Trade and Technician Apprentice at IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery (58 Seats)

Indian Oil's Bongaigaon Refinery is taking 58 apprentices under the Apprentices Act: B.Sc graduates for two trade apprentice disciplines and diploma holders in instrumentation. There is no written test. Selection is on the marks in your qualifying course, and applications close on 18 October 2026.

• Trade Apprentice, Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant): 36
• Trade Apprentice, Boiler (Mechanical): 14
• Technician Apprentice, Instrumentation: 8

Who can apply

• Attendant Operator and Boiler trades: three-year B.Sc with Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry
• Instrumentation: three-year diploma in Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, or Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
• Age 18 to 24 years on 30 September 2026 for General and EWS candidates
• Upper age relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 to 15 years for persons with benchmark disabilities depending on category

Stipend

Paid monthly at the rate set under the Apprentices Act and Rules and Indian Oil's guidelines. The advertisement does not state an amount.

How selection works

• No written test
• Merit list on the overall percentage of marks across all years or semesters of the qualifying course
• Preference to candidates doing apprenticeship training for the first time
• In a tie, the older candidate ranks higher

• Register as an apprentice on the Government portal for your trade: Apprenticeship India (NAPS) for trade apprentices or NATS for technician apprentices.
• On your dashboard there, apply to the advertisement from IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery.
• Fill in the refinery's own online application form (the Apply button on this page) and upload your documents.
• Submit and keep a printout.
