Privacy Policy
What personal information JobWalle collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.
Last updated 13 October 2026
This policy explains how JobWalle handles personal information. It describes what the service actually does. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@jobwalle.com.
Who this applies to
Everyone who uses JobWalle: visitors who browse jobs without an account, candidates, and employers and their recruiters.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), preferred language and whether you registered as a candidate or an employer.
- Candidate profile: the details you choose to add, such as phone number, city, headline, summary, work experience, education, skills, languages, expected salary, notice period, job preferences and portfolio links.
- Resumes: the files you upload.
- Applications: the jobs you apply to, the resume you attach, your note to the employer and your answers to screening questions.
- Employer information: organization name, website, industry, size, location and description, plus private verification details such as the representative's name, contact email, phone and registration number, and any supporting document.
- Activity on the site: saved jobs, job alerts, notification preferences and reports you submit about job listings.
- Usage statistics: counts of events such as searches, job views and apply clicks. These records do not contain your IP address, device details or name.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for payment card or bank details, government identity numbers, or biometric data. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in. Your recent searches are stored only in your own browser so we can suggest them again; they are not sent to us as a history. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use information
- To run the service: creating accounts, showing jobs, sending applications to employers and tracking their status.
- To send service messages: email confirmation, password reset, application updates, job alerts you asked for and moderation decisions. You can turn optional emails off in your account settings. Security messages are always sent.
- To keep the platform safe: verifying employers, reviewing job listings, investigating reports and limiting abuse. To limit repeated requests we use a salted, one-way hash of the network address; the address itself is not stored.
- To suggest jobs: recommendations are based on the preferences, skills, experience and locations in your own profile.
- To understand usage in aggregate, so we can improve the service.
Who can see your information
- Candidate profiles are private. They do not appear in search engines or public listings.
- When you apply to a job, the employer who posted it, and recruiters they have authorized, can see your profile, the resume you attached, your note and your answers. Employers cannot see candidates who have not applied to them.
- A resume is made available to an employer only after it passes our file safety checks.
- Verified employer profiles and published job listings are public.
- Our administrators can access information when needed to verify employers, moderate listings, respond to reports and support users. Privileged actions are recorded in an audit log.
- Service providers that host the application, database, file storage and email delivery process information on our behalf.
- We may disclose information when the law requires it.
Jobs from other websites
Some listings come from employers' own careers pages. When you choose to apply for one, you leave JobWalle and the employer's website and privacy policy apply. We do not send your details to that website.
How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is open. If you delete your account, your profile, resumes, applications, saved jobs and alerts are deleted. A record that an account was deleted may remain in our audit log without your email address. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
Your choices
- See and edit your profile at any time.
- Download a copy of your data from Account settings.
- Delete a resume, withdraw an application, or delete your account from your dashboard.
- Choose which emails you receive.
- Ask us to correct or erase information, or raise a concern, by writing to hello@jobwalle.com.
Security
Access to data is restricted in the database itself, so that each user, and each employer organization, can reach only its own records. Resumes and verification documents are kept in private storage and opened through short-lived links after an access check. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been misused, contact us immediately.
Children
JobWalle is intended for people who are legally able to work. It is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date shown above.
